Privacy policy
Draft. Fill in the [BRACKETS] before launch.
Guava is a Mac app made by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("we"). This policy covers the Guava app and the guava.zip website.
The app
Guava works on your Mac. It has no accounts and no analytics, and we do not receive your files, your file names or how you use the app.
AI bar
The AI bar is optional and you choose how it runs:
- Claude (cloud): your request, the paths of files the assistant looks at, and the text of files it reads are sent directly from your Mac to Anthropic using your own API key. Anthropic's handling of that data is covered by Anthropic's privacy policy and the terms of your API account. We never see it. You can stop the assistant reading file contents in Settings.
- Ollama (local): everything stays on your Mac.
- Off: the bar runs a local Spotlight search.
Your API key is stored in your macOS Keychain and is only sent to Anthropic.
Permissions
Guava asks macOS for access to your folders (and optionally Full Disk Access) so it can show and clean your files. That access is used only on your Mac.
The website
guava.zip is a static site hosted by Cloudflare. We don't use cookies or analytics. Cloudflare processes standard request data (such as IP address) to serve and protect the site; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.
If you email us, we use your message only to reply and keep it for [RETENTION PERIOD].
Children
Guava is not directed at children under 13.
